World Day of Prayer Service – ‘Build on a strong Foundation’
This year’s postponed World Day of Prayer Service has been rescheduled to be held on Sunday, July 25th at 4 pm at the Congregational Church in Exchange St., Driffield, and we hope it will be a real celebration of song and praise as we come out of the pandemic. The service for this year has been devised by the Women of Vanuatu, a country of over 83 islands situated over 1,100 miles east of Australia in the South Pacific Ocean. Everyone is invited to join us for this belated service to demonstrate solidarity with an estimated 3 million people across the world. We will hear of the thoughts, hopes and concerns of the Vanuatu women who live in a pristine environment but which is vulnerable to frequent storms, earthquakes, cyclones, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions. So, all of us are called to ‘Build on a Strong Foundation’, and to live in love, unity and peace, however diverse our ethnicity and culture is, a theme common throughout the world. So do come and join us as we celebrate together and are able to meet over refreshments after the service.
One of our Sunday services and our Wednesday services will be recorded and available to view once uploaded to YouTube. Full details are available on our Worship at Home page.
A pre-recorded service of Holy Communion from the Book of Common will be available to view each Sunday morning at 9 am. All these services can be accessed on our Worship at Home page.
